A More Civilized Age by Gibbtall A More Civilized Age by Gibbtall
So here is my friends hilt. I designed it, and built alot of it. It's mroe fancy then mine :P but w/e. I'm quite happy with how it came out. Though the string I used to tie the leather is a little thin, so I may change it. Plus the leather dosn't stay in place all that well. Buuuut, it's not mine :P

Same deal with the covertech wheel.

Go tell him how awsome I did :icontylord:

No freaking way...I'm in the middle of creating an illustration for an upcoming fanfic of mine and I gave the leade character a lightsaber that looks almost exactly like that! Freaky! :O

There are a few metal supply stores on Spears, the brass for mine was tougher to find, had to find a brass "nipple" :P

:giggle: Nipple...

Cool beans. =] I don't think I'd ever have the patience to build a plan then find the metal for it. Did you like...find certain sizes, or are you hardcore and like...go into your underground metal mill with your lead apron and big gloves, and work over a blazing furnace to hone the metal to the exact shape and size you needed? =D

loool, well a bit of both. The main body of the sabers botch started out as 2inch round bar, which we then turned on a laithe working away what we didnt need. My saber is 3 pieces, the main body, the removable pommel and the brass collar. While this one is 4, simply adding the emitter shroud and replaceing the brass with a piece from an alluminum pipe.

Sure sure. The tieing was a bit bit of a bitch, jsut remember that you need like 6 times the length of what you're tieing to tie it :P
